Mini Big Head Baby Doll pattern



Big head baby dolls or BHBD are very popular right now.They are really cute and  offers endless possibilities with creativity and imagination,you can make them anyway you want.They are fun to make but so many stitches to work,and i have my lazy days at times but really want to make another one.So i decided to make a tiny big head baby,less stitches,easier but still so much fun to make.



Materials:

-Any Light worsted weight yarn in two or more colors.
-Crochet Hook size 3mm
-Stitch markers, or scrap yarn to mark the beginning of the round.
-Safety eyes, beads, or your preferred method for embroidering eyes.


Pattern start

Legs (Make 2)
Color A
Round 1: 6 sc in magic ring pull ring tightly closed do not join (6)
Round 2: 2 sc in each st around (12)
Round 3-6: 1 sc in each st around (12)
Leave a tail on first leg long enough to sew the gap closed. Do not fasten off second leg.



Start crocheting the Body
Round 7-8: sc in each stitch of joined legs (24)
Round 9: Sc in next 5 sts, sc decrease, Sc in next 10 sts, sc decrease, Sc in next 5 sts (22)
Round 10: Sc in next 4 sts, sc decrease, Sc in next 10 sts, sc decrease, Sc in next 4 sts (20)
Round 11: Sc in next 4 sts, sc decrease, Sc in next 8 sts, sc decrease, Sc in next 4 sts (18)
Round 12: Sc in next 3 sts, sc decrease, Sc in next 8 sts, sc decrease, Sc in next 3 sts (16)
Round 13: Sc in next 3 sts, sc decrease, Sc in next 6 sts, sc decrease, Sc in next 3 sts (14)
Round 14: Sc in next 2 sts, sc decrease, Sc in next 6 sts, sc decrease, Sc in next 2 sts (12)



Head
Round 15: (1 sc in next st, 2 sc in next st) around (18)
Round 16: (sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st) around (24)
Round 17: (sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st) around (30)
Round 18: (sc in next 4 sts, 2 sc in next st) around (36)
Round 19-23: sc in each st around (36)
 Eyes are placed in Round 21, 3 stitches apart

Round 24: (sc in next 4sts, sc decrease) around (30)
Round 25: (sc in next 3 sts, sc decrease) around (24)
Round 26: (sc in next 2 sts, sc decrease) around (18)
Round 27: (sc in next 1 sts, sc decrease) around (12)
Round 28: sc decrease around (6)
Cut yarn, thread through each stitch and pull closed



Arms (Make 2)
Color A
Round 1: 9 sc in magic ring  pull ring closed do not join (9)
Round 2-3: sc in each st around (9)
Round 4: (sc in next st, sc decrease) around (6)
Round 5-7: sc in each st around (6)
Leave tail long enough for sewing.
Attach to each side of Round 13 on body.


 Another way of attaching the arms is by crocheting them as you go. With this method you will add another row of single crochets after Round13, and that is where you will be crocheting the arms.

Hat

Round 1: 6 sc in magic ring pull ring closed do not join (6)
Round 2: 2 sc in each st around (12)
Round 3: (1 sc in next st, 2 sc in next st) around (18)
Round 4: (1 sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st) around (24)
Round 5: (1 sc in next  3sts, 2 sc in next st) around (30)
Round 6: (1 sc in next 4 sts, 2 sc in next st) around (36)
Round 7:  (1 sc in next 5 sts, 2 sc in next st) around (42)

Round 8-13: 1 sc in each st around (42)
Join and weave in end.

  15. Does anyone have a pattern for a bigger one? If I use a larger needle would it make it bigger?

    1. yes Jeannie.changing your hook size will make it bigger or smaller. if youre looking for the pattern for the regular size BHBD its in ravelry.just search for big head baby doll. add it to your library first,fron there you can download the pdf file. hope it helps :-)
