Chumy Bunny: Cony

Cony is the fourth character in the Chumy series.

Materials Needed:

• Love Knots yarn (Light worsted/Dk weight)

Shade 00002 (approximate 35meters)

• Size 2.5mm crochet hook

• Size 6mm safety eyes

• Yarn needle

• Stitch marker

• Fiberfill for stuffing  

Skill level: Beginner

Finished item size: 3.5 inches tall

Gauge: 1inch= 7 stitches, 1inch= 7rows

Terms used: All terms are in USA terminology

Crocheted in continuous round, starting from head down.

Head:

Round 1: 6 Sc in magic ring (6)

Round 2:  Inc in each st around (12)

Round 3: (Sc, Inc) x6 (18)

Round 4: (2 Sc, Inc) x6 (24)

Round 5: (3 Sc, Inc) x6 (30)

Round 6-10: Sc in each st around (30)

•• Place safety eyes between round 8 and 9.

Six stitches apart.

Round 11: (3 Sc, Dec) x6 (24)

Round 12: (2 Sc, Dec) x6 (18)

Round 13: (Sc, Dec) x6 (12)

Stuff the head before proceeding to the body.

Continue working from the head to start the Body.

Round 14: (Sc, Inc) x6 (18)

Round 15: (5 Sc, Inc) x6 (21)

Round 16: (6 Sc, Inc) x6 (24)

Round 17: (3 Sc, Inc) x6 (30)

Round 18-20: Sc in each st around (30)

Round 21: (3 Sc, Dec) x6 (24)

Round 22: (2 Sc, Dec) x6 (18)

Round 23: (Sc, Dec) x6 (12)

Stuff the body firm.

Round 24: Dec around (6)

Finish off. Using yarn needle thread through each stitch and pull tight to close the opening of the body.

Ears:

Round 1: 6 Sc in magic ring (6)

Round 2:  Inc in each st around (12)

Round 3: (Sc, Inc) x6 (18)

Round 4-5: Sc in each st around (18)

Round 6: (7 Sc, Dec) x2 (16)

Round 7-8: Sc in each st around (16)

Round 9: (6 Sc, Dec) x2 (14)

Round 10-11: Sc in each st around (14)

Round 2: (5 Sc, Dec) x2 (12)

Finish off. Cut yarn leaving long tail for sewing ears to the head.

Arms:

Round 1: 6Sc in magic ring

Round 2: (2 Sc, Inc) repeat around (8) 

Round 3: (2 Sc, Dec) repeat around (6) 

Round 5: Sc in each st around (6)

Finish off, cut yarn leaving long tail for sewing the arms to the body later.  

Feet: 

Round 1: 6 Sc in magic ring (6)

Round 2:  Inc in each st around (12)

Round 3: Sc in each st around (12)

Round 4: (2 Sc, Dec) x3 (9)

Round 5: Sc in each st around (9)

Finish off, cut yarn leaving long tail for sewing the feet to the body later.

Tail:

Round 1: 6 Sc in magic ring (6)

Round 2:  Inc in each st around (12)

Round 3: Dec around (6)

Finish off, cut yarn leaving long tail for sewing the tail to the body later.  

Assembly:

• Sew the ears below Round 2 of the head.

• Sew the arms between Rounds 14 and 15.

• Sew the bunny arms and ears aligned to each other.

• Sew the tail at the lower center of the back of the body.

• Using a piece of pink yarn, embroider the node detail.
